It looks like Kings Island will be getting a new roller coaster in 2017.
For several weeks now, the park has been Tweeting cryptic messages and photos hinting that a new attraction is coming to its Rivertown section.
One Tweet simply asked: “If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound? #KIProject2017.”
The park even invited visitors to look over the tree removal work from its K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad attraction.
Plans for what a new roller coaster at the park have surfaced after Kings Island sought approval from Mason city planners to begin pouring footers for a coaster that crosses over itself twice.
The park is already home to 15 roller coasters.
Two of those coasters — the Diamondback and the celebrated Beast — are located within the Rivertown section.
The area features a western theme that depicts on old town with ranch-like structures buildings. Rivertown is among the original themed areas of the park when it opened in 1972.
