A cable snapped on Cedar Point's Skyhawk late Saturday night ride injuring two park guests.

One of the injured visitors reportedly had to be taken to the hospital. The extent of the rider's injuries was not disclosed.

The other injured park visitor was treated at the scene. The park has not disclosed whether the pair who were injured were actually on the attraction when the cable came loose.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. when a cable on the attraction that swings riders high in the air on two giant arms came loose or snapped.

The park says the "ride is closed indefinitely" while the accident is investigated.

The ride, built by S&S Power, is billed as the world's tallest ride at 125 feet. It swings 20 riders on each arm at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.

Skyhawk opened in 2006 in the park's Frontiertown section.
