Wildwater Kingdom plans for next season

By Craig Webb Published: August 16, 2014

Wildwater Kingdom is gearing up for its 2015 season -- quelling rumors of its closure.

The Aurora waterpark -- situated on the former Sea World side of Geauga Lake -- found itself on the list of endangered parks on a number of amusement park websites.

Some websites even speculated about which Cedar Fair parks would inherit its waterslides.

The park has dispelled those rumors by starting to sell season passes for next season.

The early-bird special season pass price is $65.25 -- about the cost of three visits.

A platinum pass is available for $184.50 and includes unlimited visits to all Cedar Fair parks, including Cedar Point and Kings Island.

Wildwater Kingdom has not yet announced any improvements or new attractions for 2015. This year's offering consisted of new lounge chairs.

The park begins its weekend-only operation this week. The last day of this season is Labor Day.
