Wildwater Kingdom set to open Saturday

By Craig Webb Published: May 21, 2014

It will be a sunny, albeit, chilly start of the season for Wildwater Kingdom on Saturday.

When my family visited the park in Aurora late last summer, we were pleasantly surprised how warm the water was so let’s hope the heaters are cranked up this weekend when it will be in the 70s.

The park does not have new attractions to offer this year. But it is promoting that 400 additional lounge chairs have been added around the Splash Landing area.

Like Cedar Fair’s other parks, including Cedar Point, Wildwater Kingdom is offering new single-meal and all-day dining plans.

Since the “What’s New” tab has been inactive on the park’s website in the off season, I had fears about Wildwater Kingdom’s new offerings this summer.

Hopefully a year from now we are getting excited about something other than lounge chairs at the start of the summer season.

It would be nice to see Cedar Fair make a major investment in a signature attraction at Wildwater Kingdom. A water rollercoaster would be a nice addition.
