Aeros fall on Mother's Day 8-4

The Aeros (22-12) dropped their third straight game to Harrisburg (20-16) on Mother’s Day Sunday 8-4. This brings Akron’s lead in the West over the Senators to three games.

Quick hits: The Senators took House’s pitches and sent them right back at him to the tune of three singles, a double and an RBI sac fly, all fielded by centerfielder Tim Fedroff and all in the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. Harrisburg added two more runs in the third.

Notes: Brach is making his first start this season after being promoted to Class-AA Akron from Class-A Carolina today. Brach went 0-1 with a 5.23 ERA in six appearances (four starts) this season with the Mudcats. He made five starts for the Aeros last season and posted a 1-2 record with a 4.45 ERA. . . . Right-handed pitcher Paolo Espino was called up to Class-AAA Columbus. . . . Akron entered Saturday leading the Eastern League's Western Division by five games over Harrisburg. . . . Goedert is second in the Eastern League in batting average at .375 and Fedroff is seventh at .336.
