Aeros and Phillies suspended in the third inning

The Aeros and Phillies entered a rain delay at 4:29 p.m. at Canal Park and at 5:21 the game was suspended in the bottom of the third inning.

The Phillies have a 3-0 lead in the game will resume at 1:05 p.m. Saturday. The Aeros have runners on first and second with one out against Phillies starting pitcher Josh Zeid. The teams will play the game under the normal nine inning format.

Saturday's game will then follow after a 30 minute break. That game is scheduled to go seven innings under the doubleheader format.

Michael Spidale and Matt Rizzotti each hit a sacrifice fly to center in the third inning to score Fidel Hernandez and Tuffy Gosewisch, respectively, and make the score 2-0 off Aeros starting pitcher Matt Packer.

Cody Overbeck made it 3-0 with an RBI single to left to score Freddy Galvis.

Hernandez singled to right to leadoff the third inning. Gosewisch reached base via an error and Galvis followed with perfectly placed bunt single to load the bases.
