Aeros defeat Senators 4-3

Key situation: John Drennen hit an RBI single to left-center field in the bottom of the 12th inning that scored Ben Copeland in an Aeros 4-3 victory Tuesday over the Harrisburg Senators at Canal Park in front of 5,872 fans. Copeland singled and advanced to second on a Chun Chen sacrifice bunt.

Quick hits: Aeros reliever Tyler Sturdevant got the win. . . . Senators left fielder Bryce Harper, the No. 1 pick in the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft,  went 1-for-5 at bat and threw out Chen at home plate in the eighth after a Juan Diaz single. . . . Drennen walked with the bases loaded in the first to score Copeland, and Jordan Henry scored in the second on a Copeland double to give Akron a 2-0 lead. . . . Senators catcher Derek Norris hit a solo home run in the third. The Senators led 3-2 in the fifth after Erik Komatsu doubled in Josh Johnson and Tyler Moore singled in Komatsu. . . . The Aeros tied the score at 3-3 in the ninth following singles by Drennen, Nick Weglarz and Kyle Bellows. . . . The game was the longest this season for the Aeros in terms of innings played. It took three hours and 41 minutes to play Tuesday's game, the second longest in terms of time this season. 

Next game: Senators right-hander Tanner Roark (7-8, 5.38 ERA) and Aeros left-hander T.J. McFarland (9-6, 3.75 ERA) are the scheduled starting pitchers at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
