By Ryan Lewis Published: April 17, 2012
Aeros 2, Bowie 4
Key Situation: After Bryan Price relieved starter T.J. McFarland with two runners on base and two outs in the fifth inning, Bowie's L.J. Hoes took Price's first pitch for a triple to give the Baysox a 3-0 lead. Hoes then scored on a wild pitch later in the inning.
Quick Hits: The Aeros bats were just as lively as Bowie (seven hits to eight), but Akron struggled with a couple errors and wild pitches. In the first inning, Bowie right fielder Buck Britton singled, advanced to second on a throwing error by Juan Diaz and scored on McFarland's wild pitch. Bowie's final run also scored on a wild pitch.
McFarland allowed three earned runs in 4.2 innings in his first rough outing of the season. Jared Geodert and Chen Chun each went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Next game: LHP Cole McCurry (0-1, 4.35 ERA) vs. RHP Steven Wright (1-1. 1.59 ERA), 7:05 p.m., Canal Park
