Aeros pre-game notes for Tuesday versus the Altoona Curve

* LHP KELVIN DE LA CRUZ (2-3, 2.32 ERA) looks to give the Aeros their fourth consecutive win when he toes the rubber versus Curve LHP JEFF LOCKE (2-3, 3.35 ERA).

* A battle for first place is on the line the next three days as the Aeros begin a three-game set with the Curve. Akron is 3-3 against Altoona so far this season. The Aeros will play the Curve again after this series in another three-game set at Blair County Ballpark.

* The Aeros enjoyed a scheduled off day Monday and begin a three-game series with the Altoona Curve tonight (weather permitting) at Canal Park.

* The Aeros wrapped up their seven-game road trip Sunday at Bowie, riding a season-high three-game winning streak as they prepare to host Altoona for a quick, three-game home stand.

Individual notes:

* RHP CORY BURNS (0-2, 4.20 ERA) owns an Eastern League leading 12 saves. In 15 innings he has struck out 27 and issued just three walks and leads the league with the highest strikeout per nine-inning ratio (16.20)

* C CHUN CHEN leads the Aeros with 20 RBI and has six home runs. He’s batting .271.

* LHP NICK HAGADONE (2-1, 1.66 ERA) has limited opponents to just four runs over 21 2/3 innings. In 11 appearances, he has given up just 14 hits while striking out 23 and walking seven batters…He has limited opponents to a .182 batting average and is first in the Eastern League with six holds.

* LHP KELVIN DE LA CRUZ (2-3, 2.32 ERA) is third in the league in strikeouts with 42 in 31 innings. He is third in strikeouts per nine innings with 11.70.

* OF JORDAN HENRY owns a team-high 15 stolen bases in 16 attempts, which is tied for second in the Eastern League. He is also batting .300 on the season.

* OF TIM FEDROFF leads the club with a .333 batting average, including two home runs and 15 RBI. He has hit in nine consecutive games, batting .432 with three doubles and eight RBI.

* INF JARED GOEDERT is in on a rehab assignment with the Aeros and is batting .250 (4-for-16) with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in four games with Akron.
