ERIE 1, AEROS 0
Key Situation: With the Aeros trailing 1-0 entering the ninth inning, lead off man and LF Ben Copeland worked a work to spark a late rally. But 3B Kyle Bellows hit into a double play and pinch hitter John Drennen grounded out to end the game…The SeaWolves lone run came with two outs in the fifth inning and was aided by an error.
Quick Hits: In the best pitching dual of the season at Canal Park, Aeros LHP Matt Packer took the tough luck loss despite limiting the SeaWolves to just one unearned run over 8 2/3 innings while scattering seven hits and striking out six. It was the longest outing by an Aeros starting pitcher this season…Packer was matched pitch-by-pitch for a majority of the game by Erie starter and LHP Jay Voss, who earned the win after shutting out the host over seven innings on three hits before right-handed reliever Tyler Stohr earned his first save of the season...Aeros C Matt McBride was only one of four Aeros to get a hit and the only one to garner two, going 2-for-4 with a double.
Next Game: The Aeros host Erie in the third game of this four-game series tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Canal Park…Aeros LHP Drew Pomeranz (0-1, 2.57 ERA) is slated to face SeaWolves RHP Jacob Turner (3-5, 3.48 ERA) on the mound.
