McBride, De La Cruz spark Aeros on the road

Matt McBride hit a two-run home run in the first inning and later scored what turned out to be the game-winning run in the sixth inning and ended a
three-game losing streak for the visiting Aeros (6-6).

McBride's first home run of the season was part of a three-run first inning. Chun Hsiu Chen started the scoring with an RBI single that scored Juan Diaz and came home on McBride's blast.

Left-hander Kelvin De La Cruz (1-2, 1.80) pitched well in five innings of work, giving up two runs, six hits, one walk and struck out nine.

Nick Hagadone pitched 2jinnings of scoreless relief with four strikeouts and Cory Burns gave up a solo home run to Bowie's Caleb Joseph to start the bot
tom of the ninth, but then got the next three batters to record his fifth save.

 The teams meet at 7:05 tonight in the second of the three-game series in Bowie.
