Phillies defeat Aeros 4-0, earn a doubleheader sweep

Key situations: Aeros starting pitcher Kelvin De La Cruz allowed four earned funs. Derrick Mitchell singled in Cody Overbeck in the second inning to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead. Tim Kennelly smacked a three-run triple in the fourth that scored Overbeck, Mitchell and Fidel Hernandez.

Quick hits: Phillies starting pitcher J.C. Ramirez tossed a seven-inning complete game shutout. Ramirez limited the Aeros to three hits, struck out four, hit one and walked one. . . . De La Cruz worked six innings and allowed five hits. He also struck out six and walked two.  

Next game: The Aeros are off today. Akron will host Bowie at 7:05 p.m. Monday. Right-handed Austin Adams is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Aeros against an undetermined pitcher for the Baysox.
