Trenton Fights off Sweep, Beat Aeros 2-1

By Ryan Lewis Published: April 15, 2012

Quick Hits: Starting pitcher Eric Berger was much improved over his first start, but again tired in the fourth inning. Trenton's Cody Johnson belted a solo home run to right field that even cleared the inflatable slide that sits behind the bleachers. Berger threw five innings, gave up two earned runs on five hits and struck out four.
Down 2-1 in the eighth inning, the Aeros had runners on the corners with no outs. Juan Diaz struck out and Jared Goedert popped out to shortstop.
Chun Chen was walked on four pitches to load the bases for Nick Weglarz, who weakly popped out to third to end the inning.
Next game:  Toru Murata (0-0) will notch his first start against Bobby Bundy (1-1, 3.27 ERA) and Bowie Monday night at 7:05 p.m. at home.
