I almost feel sorry for Hillary Clinton, at least as sorry as I can feel for a soulless calculating socialist political chameleon who would say or do anything to be elected president of the United States. On foreign policy, for instance, she is caught between what she knows is the correct policy, and the one that will placate the left (aka, the 'dumber than hell' policy). The result is a political schizophrenia that has left her open to the kind of beating she took in the last Democratic presidential debate. Hillary literally tailors her comments to the voting bloc to whom she is speaking, and hopes nobody will notice the discrepancy. Look at her policy regarding Iran. In february of 2007, speaking in front of a pro-Israeli audience, Hillary said the following:
"U.S. policy must be clear and unequivocal. “We cannot, we should not, we must not permit Iran to build or acquire nuclear weapons. In dealing with this threat ... no option can be taken off the table."
This is the correct policy toward Iran. A gold star for Hillary. Nuclear weapons in the hands of religious extremists who have openly stated their intention to wipe Israel off the map, as Iran has, is a really, really bad idea, if I may be allowed to make the understatement of the year. Everyone understands this, except for the terminally braindead who think there is no evil on earth other than George W. Bush and his neocon cabal. Unfortunately for Hillary, those braindead liberals are a major part of her base. Hillary also voted for the Kyl-Lieberman amendment that declared the Iranian Revolutionary Guard to be a terrorist group, another correct vote by Hillary which falls into the 'master of the obvious' category. However, in the upside-down bizarro Democratic milieu, Hillary is put on the defensive by her moveon.orgiastic constituency for that vote, when it should be be the other way around. The Democratic presidential candidates who DIDN'T support the amendment should be the ones with the explaining to do, but no (Obama courageously abstained. Didn't he say something about 'audacity' once ? I guess I imagined that, or maybe he meant 'audacity without consequences').
As a result of the moonbats getting their feathers ruffled because Hillary has the awareness to know what everybody else has known since the Iranian Revolution in 1979 (and the ensuing US hostage crisis) - that the Iranian government is an extremist group, she's had to attempt to play politics by sending letters about Iran both to the Iowa voters and president Bush personally, condemning the Bush administration for "provocative statements and actions" toward Iran (the same kind of statements and actions as Hillary had been making). The letter said Bush couldn't take military action against Iran without the permission of Congress, which was not given to him. Never mind the fact that Bush HASN'T gone to war without congressional approval, never suggested he would, that congress authorized the Iraq war, for which Hillary voted, that Bush really DOESN'T need congressional approval to take out Iran's nuclear facilities if he wants to, or that Hillary's HUSBAND attacked Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia all without congressional approval, and you begin to see the political games that Hillary is playing in an attempt to placate the fools on the Hill and among the public. In spite of the schizophrenic act, maybe Hillary really IS the smartest Democratic candidate. The rest of them can't even tell the difference between enemies and friends. At least she has that much going for her, assuming her hardline position against Iran is her real one. It's no easy task to identify the real Hillary. Her stance on issues is like a chinese menu. One from column A and one from column B.
