"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need" - Marxist slogan
Above, we have the ideological principle behind Obamacare. If you "need" help paying for health insurance, the government gives it to you in the form of subsidies or Medicaid. If you don't "need" help, and have the "ability" to pay for your own insurance, then the government charges you more in the form of both premiums and taxes.
Simple, right ? And completely fair...unless you are one of the people who has to pay more. Then it doesn't seem quite so fair, but that's the way things go on Barry Obama's commune. As they say, there are winners and losers, and Obama gets to choose them. According to Barry's cult members, this is exactly how it should be in...a...free...country ? That 'life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness' stuff is so old school. Ditto for that 'land of opportunity' jazz. Forget about all that. Ask not what you can do for your country, ask what your country can do for you !!! JFK had it backwards. No wonder that comrade iced him. Viva la revolucion !
Why should we work so hard to succeed and thrive, when the government can fulfill all our needs without requiring anything from us ? Everyone likes free stuff !!! Here on Barry's commune, every day will be like Christmas !!! We reward those who have accomplished the least, because we are nice people, unlike those obstructionists on the other side who believe in that bourgeois free market. What has the free market ever supplied for the people ? Sure, sure, lots of stuff, almost everything actually, but let's not get sidetracked by bourgeois reality. We're building utopia here !
Obamacare may also seem not quite so fair to doctors whose rates are being dictated by the government, but again, doctors are people who have worked hard, studied, and accomplished something important. On Barry's commune, we say screw those losers. They aren't even that large of a voting bloc. Forcing doctors to do what Barry says is a constitutional right, dammit ! If the doctors complain that they can't afford to stay in business, then let 'em go into some other profession. Who needs 'em ? As Barry would say, they are "invested in failure".
Once we get healthcare completely under the government's wing, we can begin nationalizing, er, I mean, "helping" other industries to "do better" too. Eventually, we will get them all to do our bidding. We are on the way, comrades. We are on the way.
There is one other little thing I should mention. A minor matter. A trifle, really. You know that Marxist slogan we live by, the one I mentioned up top ? There is a bit more to that quotation, and it goes like this:
"In a higher phase of communist society, after the enslaving subordination of the individual to the division of labor, and therewith also the antithesis between mental and physical labor, has vanished; after labor has become not only a means of life but life's prime want; after the productive forces have also increased with the all-around development of the individual, and all the springs of co-operative wealth flow more abundantly—only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be crossed in its entirety and society inscribe on its banners: From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs!"
Comrades, please report to the train station at 7am for your work assignments, or you will be promptly arrested and confined without trial. Thank you for your cooperation. Viva la revolucion !!!
