About This Blog
VP Joe Biden is the gift that keeps on giving. Here's Uncle Joe on the campaign trail:
That's right, Joe. The middle class HAS been buried over the last four years. Now, try to keep up with me here, Joe. Who has been running the country for the last four years, Joe ? It's been you and your compadre Barack Obama, that's who. It's been you Democrats who have run the country for the last four years. I can only assume, Joe, that you are campaigning for a CHANGE in leadership. I agree wholehearctedly.
And speaking of how "they" can justify raising taxes on the middle class, joe, "they" don't justify it at all, because "they" aren't going to raise taxes on the middle class. "They" have never once said they were going to do that. Only "you" have said they were going to do that.
From Romney's website:
America’s individual tax code applies relatively high marginal tax rates on a narrow tax base. Those high rates discourage work and entrepreneurship, as well as savings and investment. With 54 percent of private sector workers employed outside of corporations, individual rates also define the incentives for job-creating businesses. Lower marginal tax rates secure for all Americans the economic gains from tax reform.
- Make permanent, across-the-board 20 percent cut in marginal rates
- Maintain current tax rates on interest, dividends, and capital gains
- Eliminate taxes for taxpayers with AGI below $200,000 on interest, dividends, and capital gains
- Eliminate the Death Tax
- Repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)
I didn't see anything there that indicates Romney/Ryan are going to raise taxes on the middle class, joe. but If that's not clear enough for you, joe, let's get more clarity from Romney himself, who said this weeks ago, "I don't want to raise taxes on the American people, not when our economy is in the trouble it's in, I will not raise taxes on middle Americans".
Did you hear that, joe ? Romney's NOT going to raise taxes on the middle class. He's going to reduce taxes on the middle class. Maybe you should consider injecting a little honesty into your deadly earnest Howdy Doody routine, joe. Alternately, joe, you could argue that Romney's tax cut plan will add to the debt. That would be a more feasible argument, but you don't want to do that, do you, joe, because that would shine the spotlight right back on the Obama administration, who has run up more debt than any administration in American history, about $6 trillion over Obama's first tem. You'd be a world class laughingstock accusing Romney of running up debt in advance after you've run up more than debt than any administration in history, wouldn't you, joe ?
I'm wondering though, joe, if there's anyone who IS going to raise taxes on the middle class, or anyone who already has. Let's think for a bit....how about the ObamaCare mandate ? That imposed a penalty on any middle class person who doesn't purchase health insurance. The Supreme Court called that a tax.
Other ObamaCare taxes that will fall on the middle class include:
–A new tax on health insurance premiums, totaling $60 billion over the first 10 years alone;
–A new tax on medical devices, which includes wheelchairs, pacemakers, stents used in heart surgery, and other common medical articles;
–A new tax on prescription drugs, totaling $27 billion over the first 10 years;
–A new 10% tax on tanning salons.
And let's not forget that the ObamaCare mandate itself puts a financial burden on middle class familiies by forcing them to purchase health insurance. The CBO estimated that it will cost middle class families an average of $15,000 per year once ObamaCare is fully implemented, with the costs rising from there.
Are we still deadly earnest about not raising taxes on the poor buried middle class, joe ?
Didn't think so. The only thing you're deadly earnest about is misleading the American people in order to create division and fear. That's why you are running all those fearmongering "Romney is going to raise your taxes by $2,000" ads that you know aren't true. That much I understand, joe, because your boss is an old hand at sowing the seeds of division, hatred, and fear, like he did back in 2007 when he did his Kanye West impersonation and told black people that the government doesn't care about them.
Anything to get re-elected, right Joe ? Even if none of it is true. Hope And Change, baby.
