Social Security Snow Job

While skimming through today's Drudge Report, I found an article stating that Social Security (SS) will operate in the red for the next couple years. SS will pay more out to retirees than it collects in payroll taxes. This is due to the recession. It seems many more older workers are opting for early SS retirement in this lousy job market, thereby raising SS payouts.

But that part of the story isn't what caught my attention. The interesting part was how the author reiterated an enduring myth about Social Security. Here it is:

This Is What A Violent Protest Looks Like

After months of liberals quaking in their Birkenstocks about non-existent violence at peaceful Tea Party protests across the country, it bears pointing out what actual violent protest looks like. We just witnessed that at the G-20 protests in Pittsburgh, where anti-capitalist (read: left-wing, socialist) protesters hurled rocks at police and vandalized private property. Police responded by firing tear gas canisters and using pepper spray. Nearly 200 people were arrested.

And our President spoke these words in front of an audience that included the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, Moammar Gadhafi, and a slew of other human rights violators (many of whom are on the Orwellian UN Human Rights Council).

Health Care Hypocrites

President Bush tried to cut Medicare spending several times to trim the deficits and offset rising health care costs. Each time, he was vilified by the Democrats, and Democrats voted as a bloc against those cuts, defeating them every time. In 2008, they even overrode a Bush veto to stop Bush from implementing Medicare cuts. The various sizes of the proposed Bush Medicare cuts were between $35 billion over five years, $105 billion over ten years, and $278 billion over ten years.

Now, it's all somehow different. President Obama is calling for $622 billion in Medicare/Medicaid cuts over ten years, far more than Bush ever proposed, and the Democrats have suddenly come to the realization that the Medicare entitlements are unsustainable, threatening to bankrupt the nation, and will drive the deficits through the roof. I assume the Democrats came to this realization the same day Barack Obama became President Of The United States. The same Democrats who opposed Bush's Medicare cuts are perfectly fine with Obama's much larger Medicare cuts. While I'm glad the Democrats have finally awakened somewhat to the reality of the entitlement crisis, their hypocrisy is deafening.

You Are Not Being Served

For a long time now, I've realized that the federal government is not operating in the best interests of the American people. This is not a partisan statement. I don't believe Republicans are helping Americans any more than Democrats are (though Democrats are pushing the envelope to irresponsible new heights right now). What the government has been doing for my entire life is to take more and more wealth away from it's citizens to use for itself. Yes, Bush implemented some tax cuts, but they weren't paid for. They added to the deficit, meaning they were not really tax cuts at all, but rather taxes deferred. They added to the already massive national debt (nearly $12 trillion now). We have to pay interest on that debt. The Bush tax cuts may have helped the economy overcome a recession in the short run, but they were detrimental over the long run. Ditto for every other set of deficits run up by every other presidential administration in my lifetime. They are nothing more than claims on future taxpayers. They are nothing more than a continuation of the nonstop fiscal irresponsibility of our federal government that has pissed me off for most of my life. They weaken the dollar and destroy the futures of our children. If you have been living under a rock and somehow don't understand this, try to remember the last presidential administration that ran a surplus for it's term. I defy you to do it. EVERY SINGLE ONE, for the last century, has been increasingly irresponsible, and now we have the most irresponsible administration of them all in power. Barack Obama is projected to run up over $9 trillion in debt, more than every other presidential administration in history COMBINED. That's my central problem with Obama, and it has NOTHING to do with partisanship. Don't listen to the rhetoric from the White House, look at the policies. If Obama became fiscally responsible tomorrow, if he actually started serving the long term interests of this country, I'd be his biggest fan. I'd be shouting 'Yes We Can' from the rooftops. Sadly, that is not the case. Obama is destroying our children's futures faster than ever. America cannot continue to survive this for much longer.

The government is engaged in such a massive ripoff of the American taxpayer that it is beyond the comprehension of most taxpayers to even understand it. The government weaves such an elaborate web of bullshit that most of us don't even realize it's happening. The most we can usually muster up is the vague and general feeling that something is drastically wrong. We don't have any idea how to fix it. It seems way beyond our control. We are the hapless victims of 'they.' "'They' are the ones who set things up this way." 'They' are the ones who always screw everything up. 'They' are the government. 'We' are the people, though we've almost forgotten that the government is supposed to work for us.

An ACORN Falls From The Tree

When two 20-year olds posing as a pimp and a prostitute were able to bring down ACORN by getting multiple ACORN offices to assist them in setting up a would-be prostitution ring for underage girls from El Salvador, I thought to myself, 'wouldn't it be nice if we had professional organizations in this country that could root out corruption like that ?' Then we wouldn't have to depend upon college kids to do it. We could call such professionals, say, journalists. But, alas, all we have is the Lame Stream Media. Tort Reform And Race Cards

America Shows Up On 9/12

On saturday, I attended the 9/12 Tea Party demonstration in Washington D.C. I don't know exactly how many people were there, but there were a ton of them, the biggest crowd of which I've been a part. I asked a security cop for a crowd estimate at 10:30am, and he said they were guessing 50,000 at that point. That was hours before the main event, which began at 1:00pm. The crowd got larger and larger throughout the day. The largest crowd I'd been in previously was 80,000. All I can say is, this crowd was bigger. I've heard the official crowd estimate was 60,000. That is WAY low from my firsthand perspective.

We Don't Have Free Market Health Care

One thing I've never been able to understand in the health care reform debate is why the Republican idea to allow health insurance companies to compete on a nationwide basis isn't incorporated into the health care reform bill(s). President Obama stresses competition as the primary reason for the public option, but every thinking person knows the private sector can't compete with the federal government. If we want competition in a free market, competition must be between those IN THE FREE MARKET. The government isn't part of that.

Once again, I thought I was done with Obama's former Green Jobs Czar, Van Jones, but I HAVE to report this. Lord knows our media won't. It turns out that Mr. Jones is not only a 9/11 Truther, but he also thought that America DESERVED to be attacked on 9/11. Like Obama's 20-year pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Van Jones thought 9/11 was America's "chickens coming home to roost," (to quote Rev. Wright). Van Jones Resigns - Yes We Can !

First of all, good riddance to Van Jones, President Obama's former Green Jobs Czar. As I wrote previously, he is a radical loon who doesn't belong anywhere near the White House. I'm glad he resigned (or was forced to resign. We may never know). I'd be more than happy to never write about him again, but some comments from Democrats subsequent to Jones' resignation, together with Van Jones own resignation statement, compel to bring him up one more time.

Let's start with liberal radio talker Alan Colmes, who said "Van Jones is a mainstream liberal." Wow. Let's hope not. If Van Jones is a mainstream liberal, then a mainstream liberal is a radical Communist revolutionary race-mongering anti-semitic 9/11 Truther who thinks white polluters are targeting minority populations, who thinks whitey is spraying toxins on illegal immigrants, who thinks the entire American capitalist system should be overthrown, who thinks Republicans are a**holes, who thinks all wealth should be redistributed, who thought the Rodney King race riots were righteous, and who supports Mumia Abu Jamal, the cop killer. If Van Jones is a mainstream liberal, this country is in even deeper trouble than I thought. I better step up my attacks on liberals. Granted, I have heard pretty much all the above sentiments echoed by liberals, but I thought it was mainly confined to the lunatic fringe of liberaldom, the acolytes so blinded by propaganda that they can't see what divisive hatemongers like Van Jones are promoting, which is nothing less than the destruction of the very system that made America the world's pre-eminent economic, scientific, and military power (note to liberals - if you were offended by this reference to American exceptionalism and feel urged to rebut it, YOU are one of the lunatic fringe).

Health Care Facts And Falsehoods

The media prefers to focus on contention at townhall meetings rather than the facts about health care reform. I guess that makes for better ratings. Infotainment.

Radicals In Power

One of the most disturbing things about Barack Obama is not Obama himself, but rather some of the people around him, including several people he has put into positions of authority. I've already detailed the radical nature of a couple Obama administration personnel, Science Czar John Holdren and FCC Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd. Holdren has a number of crazy beliefs, among them being the idea that the U.S. Constitution doesn't entitle people to have children. Holdren declared “neither the Declaration of Independence nor the Constitution mentions a right to reproduce" in his 1977 book, Ecoscience. Evidently, Holdren missed the second sentence in the Declaration of Independence - "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." In Holdren's defense, he only attended MIT and Stanford. Maybe they don't teach the basics at those elite schools. I don't know. I could only afford to go to Podunk University in Backwater, USA (so I am oppressed and demand reparations ! Just kidding. My inner whiny liberal took over for a second there). Yet, somehow I know the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution better than Holdren does. I must have read about it on a bathroom wall somewhere, or maybe at a gun show.

Mark Lloyd is another elite. He was a professor at Georgetown and a visiting lecturer at MIT prior to becoming a Hugo Chavez-loving Nazi hell-bent on destroying free speech on America's airwaves. Here's a quote from the well-educated Professor Lloyd:
