My liberal blogger friend, the Reverend from the Blog Of Mass Destruction, wrote a post yesterday citing a study by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI). The EPI study determined that President Obama's economic plan would create more jobs over the next couple years than would Republican challenger Mitt Romney's economic plan.
For those of you not familiar with the EPI, it is a progressive think-tank (that laughably bills itself as "nonpartisan".) A quick look at EPI's board of directors puts to rest any notion that EPI is nonpartisan. Thus, when the progressives at EPI say Obama's economic plan is better than Romney's plan, it is akin to the Republican National Committee declaring Romney's plan to be the superior one. You must consider the source. The outcome is almost predetermined.
Both Democrats and Republicans agree that America needs more jobs. The disagreement comes over how to create them.
Thus far, the Obama administration's solution has been to borrow a trillion dollars on stimulus efforts, enact thousands and thousands of pages of new regulations on the business sector, and add new taxes and mandates on the business sector. Presidential challenger Mitt Romney's solution is to do exactly the opposite of what Obama has done. He wants to reduce regulations on business, reduce taxes on business and investment, and get rid of the Obama mandates.
Our vaunted mainstream media (aka, Obama supporters) keeps telling us Romney had a really bad week, that his campaign is hanging by a thread. To illlustrate exactly how bad a week Romney had...the latest polls show Romney has gone from being down five points to drawing even with President Obama.
In fact, Romney has had a really bad month. Here's a graphic from Gallup that shows how bad it's been:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism', they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened" - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist presidential candidate
Thousands of American Christian protestors stormed the British embassy In Washington D.C. today in protest of the Monty Python movie, Life Of Brian, which mocks Christianity. The protestors murdered the British ambassador and set the embassy afire. Protestors in other western countries took to the streets in a show of Christian solidarity, chanting "Death To Great Brittain !!!" and "There is but one religion, Christian !!!". Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton condemned the Python movie, calling it "disgusting" and "reprehensible". Protestors also ransacked and burned the HBO television studio where the program Real Time With Bill Maher is filmed. Maher, a high-profile Christian basher, has gone into hiding, and now communicates only via e-mail, using the pseudonym Theo Kratzinger. As the violent Christian protests escalate, fears of worlwide Christian terrorist attacks mount. A group called the Christian Brotherhood has demanded that insults to Christianity become criminal offenses, saying free speech should not extend to such "barbaric aggression" as the Python film, which humiliates Christians.
You might be a liberal if you speak proudly of how President Clinton balanced the budget, but are voting to re-elect President Obama, who has run up more debt than any American President in history.
You might be a liberal if you thought Bush was a war criminal who should be imprisoned for waterboarding 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, but are voting to re-elect President Obama, who executed American citizen Anwar al-Awlaki and other terrorist suspects via predator drone without a trial.
"Just like we’ve tried their plan, we tried our plan — and it worked. That’s the difference. That’s the choice in this election. That’s why I’m running for a second term.” - President Barack Obama, in Oakland.
Obama says his economic plan has worked. Let's examine that claim.
I've been watching the Democratic Naitonal Convention over the last couple days, where the lies and disinformation crash down on you like the mighty waters of Niagara Falls. I don't know if I've ever witnessed so much subterfuge concentrated in one spot like that. It's been a true wonder, a veritable factchecker's dream. If the Democratic jobs plan is to create employment for factcheckers, then, congratulations Dems, your economic plan is working after all.
Being an industrious lttle blogger (at times), I began watching the spectacle with a notebook and pen in hand, making one-line notes of each odious emanation wafting down on the people from the convention stage. I had filled up nearly three full pages, when all of a sudden, it happened. The Red Sea parted, a holy light shone down from above, and a deity appeared...
But first, my summary of Day One of the Democratic Natonal Convention - "Abortion, Abortion, Abortion !!! Gay Rights !!! Minorities !!! War On Women, War On Women !!! Spend, Spend, Spend !!! Tax The Rich !!! We're All Victims !!!"
This concludes my coverage of the Democratic National Convention.
Are We Better Off ?: Just as the Democratic National Convention tips off on tuesday, the national debt will surpass $16 trillion, putting an exclamation point on how much things are "improving" under President Obama. Forward !!!...into the abyss.
Suprression ?: Here are the instructions from the Democrats on how to get into the Democratic National Convention:
