Obama Pushes Doctors To Violate Hippocratic Oath

By David King Published: September 16, 2013

The Hippocratic Oath is one of the oldest documents in history. It's principles are held sacred by doctors. Barack Obama could care less. He's pushing doctors to violate the Hippocratic Oath.

A doctor swears in the Oath that he/she "will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know".

Privacy, shmivacy. Such antiquated notions reek of that outdated Constitution thingy for which President Obama has no use. Obama's government wants your medical information for it's ObamaCare electronic medical records database, and Obama will punish doctors who do not provide it. As the New York Post points out in an article titled "Obamacare will question your sex life":

Doctors and hospitals who don’t comply with the federal government’s electronic-health-records requirements forgo incentive payments now; starting in 2015, they’ll face financial penalties from Medicare and Medicaid. The Department of Health and Human Services has already paid out over $12.7 billion for these incentives.

Dr. Richard Amerling, a nephrologist and associate professor at Albert Einstein Medical College, explains that your medical record should be “a story created by you and your doctor solely for your treatment and benefit.” But the new requirements are turning it “into an interrogation, and the data will not be confidential.”

When I write about this stuff, I can barely believe I'm actually writing it. It's seems surreal. I can barely believe this is the America in which I grew up. The government is effectively prying into almost all aspects of our lives now. Your phone records aren't private. Your e-mails aren't private. Your credit card transactions aren't private. Your medical records will no longer be private. The government can track your car movements via GPS, and track the rest of your movements via your cell phone's GPS. The government will know about your sex life, your drug history, and every medical procedure you ever had. America is not-so-slowly becoming a real life version of one of those dystopian totalitarian governments you see in science fiction movies.

Let's face it. Once ObamaCare goes into effect, it's game over for privacy. The remains of that tattered notion will fall. Big Brother Barack should be declared the winner. The United States Constitution and we the people are the losers. We might as well toss out the 4th Amendment and replace it with one that says "you will hand over any and all information the government desires upon demand, and the government can search and seize your private effects whenever it damn well chooses". That would be more accurate.

We can consider the existing 4th Amendment to be a quaint reminder of that thing we used to call liberty - "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized".

Forget it. We're all just wards of the state now. Thanks, Barack. Hopenchange, baby. Hopenchange.
