Our post-partisan president, Barack Obama, has continued to reward Democratic constituencies (as he did in his stimulus bill), this time by reversing executive orders issued by ex-president Bush that organized labor didn't like.
Yes, elections do have consequences, even if promises of post-partisanship do not. Despite Obama's dog and pony show meeting with the GOP to discuss the stimulus package, which resulted in Obama dismissing GOP concerns by saying "I won," the GOP had zero input into the stimulus package. It was written wholly by Democrats for Democrats, and that package was discussed for only one hour on the floor of the House before it was voted upon. Every Republican voted against it. Democrats and their pet media then accused the Republicans of playing politics because Republicans were against the largest spending bill in American history, which Republicans had nothing to do with. If this is post-partisanship, then Karl Marx was a capitalist. This is a pretense of post-partisanship, with a reality of uber-partisanship.
Now it's organized labor's turn to feast at the "post-partisan" buffet. Obama will reverse four executive orders. Here's one of them:
Among the Bush-era executive orders that Obama was to reverse was one that allowed unionized companies to post signs informing workers that they are allowed to decertify their union.
Say what ? Now companies are NOT ALLOWED to post signs telling workers they can de-unionize ??? Perhaps our new president hasn't heard about that whole "freedom of speech" concept we used to be so fond of in this country. Quick, somebody send him a copy of the Bill Of Rights. Call the ACLU (on second thought, DON'T call the ACLU. They only come in handy to suppress God.)
After this ruling, it will only be a matter of time until the Orwellian-named Employee Free Choice Act is implemented to remove the sacred secret ballot from union voting, opening the door to intimidating workers into unionization. Ah, can't you just smell the freedom ! 'Grab a bat, Cletus, thar's a non-unioner agitatin' over yonder !'
Here's another executive order Obama is to reverse:
A third Obama order would require federal vendors with more than $100,000 in contracts to post workers' rights under the National Labor Relations Act.
I see. And do those "worker's rights" include telling them they have the right to unionize ? Of course they do. So, on the one hand, Obama is BANNING the posting of information telling workers they can de-unionize, and on the other hand, he is FORCING the posting of information telling workers they can unionize. Whee-doggies ! What could be more fair than that ! Other than Soviet Russia, I mean.
Welcome to Obamaland, formerly known as the United States Of America.
Here's one piece of slightly HOPE-ful news. It seems the more the public finds out about Obama's Generational Theft Act (stimulus package), the less they like it (Knowledge IS power). A new Rasmussen poll has 42% approving of the package, and 39% disapproving. Those approval numbers are down from a week ago. Pay attention, America, and you'll be surprised at what you find.
