Last night, GOVERNOR Sarah Palin (R-Al) and others delivered an uppercut to the chin of the liberal media, an overhand right to the jaw of Barack Obama, and outlined a clear vision for the future, a future that says 'no thank you' to the intrusive iron hand of a burdensome Big Brother bureaucracy, aka, the federal government under an Obama administration.
I say, yes, yes, yes, and HELL YES !!! Palin appears to be someone who gets it !!! Maybe I won't have to give up on the GOP quite yet. Somewhere, the founding fathers are smiling. And somewhere, the special interests and corrupt bureaucrats are worried. Expect the unfounded and sexist attacks against Palin to continue. Expect them to ramp up. Expect the rabid left to go bonkers, even more bonkers than they already are, if that's possible. Sarah Palin is a direct threat. She's also a threat to the elitists, because she appears to be a (gasp) NORMAL PERSON with a normal family. If the elites despise anything about America, they despise that. Those normal people, the great unwashed americans, why, they do things like cling to their guns and their religion, the rubes. The elites know how icky that is. Ewww.
If any of you still believe in the myth of an Obama presidency after watching last night's Repubican National Convention, especially the Palin and Rudy Giulianii speeches, then I don't know what to tell you. There is no set of words or deeds that will ever change your mind. You are a true believer. I'm not sure what it is you believe in, other than maybe marxism or magic, but c'est la vie. It's a free country. It might even remain so if we elect McCain/Palin.
The icing on the cake for me was the reaction of the liberal MSNBC commentators following the Palin and Giuliani speeches. Andrea Mitchell, who was openly cheering at the Democratic Convention last week, looked like she was about to burst into tears as she was interviewing Rudy, at one point facing the camera and glumly intoning "the war is on." Chris Matthews looked stunned, like he had been hit in the face with a shovel. He was so sure Palin would crumble under the liberal media's sexist and baseless attacks, and she brushed them aside like the gnats that they are. Keith Olbermann was muttering some twisted nonsense (as if he ever mutters anything else) about Palin's family being on the table for attack because Palin had lined them up for a photo op at an airport. What a scumbag. Former Air America nutjob Rachel Maddow was calling Palin an anti-Semite. Same as it ever was.
The GOP had a great night. They get a grade of A+. I only wonder how John McCain is going to follow all that.
