Hunter Mahan has withdrawn from the Bridgestone Invitational, the PGA Tour confirmed Monday night.
Mahan's wife, Kandi, went into labor this past weekend while he was competing in the RBC Canadian Open. He withdrew from the tournament after receiving the news, and the couple celebrated the birth their first child early Sunday morning.
Mahan won the Bridgestone in 2010.
The tournament field now has 48 of the top-50 players, as Mahan was ranked No. 22 in the Official World Golf Rankings. Louis Oosthuizen, ranked 12th, is also not playing.
