Former GlenOak star Bri'onte Dunn dismissed from Ohio State

Former GlenOak star running back Bri'onte Dunn has been dismissed from Ohio State for a violation of team rules, the school announced in an email.

With Ezekiel Elliott off to the NFL, Dunn was expected to have a large role in OSU's offense during his senior season. He was competing for carries with freshman Mike Weber, junior Curtis Samuel, senior Dontre Wilson and others.

Dunn was regarded by most recruiting websites as a top 100 prospect in 2012 and chose Ohio State over Michigan. With the Buckeyes, though, he was never the featured running back with players like Elliott and Carlos Hyde blocking his way.

Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett on Maxwell Award watch list

It's officially watch list season in college football, and Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett should land on plenty of them.

The junior quarterback is on the watch list for the Maxwell Award, given annually to college football's best player. Alabama running back Derrick Henry won the award in 2015 and Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota won it in 2014. Both players won the Heisman Trophy the same year.

An Ohio State player hasn't won the award since Eddie George in 1995. Four Buckeyes in total have won it.

OSU single-game football tickets on sale July 11

Ohio State single-game tickets for the 2016 football season will go on sale to the general public July 11 at 10 a.m.

They will be available for all seven home games, although those for Nebraska and Michigan are limited.

Prices are as follows: Bowling Green and Tulsa, $70; Rutgers and Indiana, $80; Northwestern, $90; Nebraska, $135; Michigan , $195.

Sporting News touts Ohio State's Pat Elflein and Raekwon McMillan as 1st team All-Americans

College football preview magazines are starting to hit the shelves, and Sporting News has some high praise for Ohio State players.

Senior guard Pat Elflein and junior middle linebacker Raekwon McMillan are touted as first-team All-Americans in the preview magazine. Junior quarterback J.T. Barrett and senior punter Cameron Johnston are on second team.

The Buckeyes are ranked by Sporting News as the No. 4 team in the nation, behind Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma. That ranking comes despite Ohio State losing 16 starters from last season.

Ohio State center Trevor Thompson opts out of NBA Draft, will return for junior season

After flirting with the NBA Draft, Ohio State center Trevor Thompson has decided to return for his junior season with the Buckeyes.

Reports: Ohio State loses backup QB Stephen Collier for the season

Ohio State is set at starting quarterback with junior J.T. Barrett. Behind him, the Buckeyes have been dealt a blow.

According to multiple reports, backup quarterback Stephen Collier is out for the season due to a torn ACL. The news was first reported by Eleven Warriors and confirmed by other outlets.

Collier, a redshirt sophomore, was competing with redshirt freshman Joe Burrow to be the team's primary backup. WIth this injury, the only other scholarship quarterback on the roster is freshman Dwayne Haskins, who enrolls in June.

Former Ohio State All-America, Saints DE Will Smith shot and killed after traffic incident

Former Ohio State and Saints defensive end Will Smith was shot and killed Saturday night in an apparent road rage incident following a traffic accident in New Orleans.

According to the Associated Press, Smith died of multiple gunshot wounds. Smith was 34.

Smith's wife Racquel was riding with him and was shot in the leg. She was taken to a local hospital, according to the AP. The couple have three children.

Smith posted a photo of himself and Racquel on his Instagram account hours before his death with the caption, "Having a blast at the #fqf2016," in reference to the city's French Quarter Fest.

Ohio State suspends Tracy Sprinkle following arrest, cocaine charge

Ohio State has suspended redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle after he was charged with cocaine possession.

Doug Lesmerises of first reported the story over the weekend. Lorain Police were called to the Grown & Sexy Lounge on Friday night and found Sprinkle among a group of 50 people in an altercation outside.

After Sprinkle was arrested and put in a squad car, two small bags of cocaine were found underneath a seat. He was also charged with failure to disperse.

Sprinkle was suspended indefinitely by the school on Sunday.

Ohio State announces $42 million in renovations for Ohio Stadium; seating capacity to drop

Ohio State University on Tuesday announced plans renovations at Ohio Stadium that will cost $42 million.

From a release by the school, here's what being updated:

- Restore and re-coat the 94-year old concrete on C-deck.
