Ohio State's only nonconference road game against California now has a time and TV network. The Buckeyes will play at 7 p.m. Sept 14 against the Bears on Fox Sports.
Here is the release from the university:
Ohio State’s only non-conference road game of the 2013 season – Sept. 14 at the University of California – will start at 7 p.m. EDT and it will be televised by FOX Sports, the Pac-12 Conference announced today. The game will be played at Cal’s newly renovated Memorial Stadium and will complete a two-game home-and-home series between the teams.
Ohio State and Cal have played seven times previously, with Ohio State holding a 6-1 series advantage. When the two teams met last year in Ohio Stadium, it was the first meeting in 40 years. The Buckeyes prevailed in a difficult game, 35-28, as Braxton Miller hit Devin Smith for a 72-yard score with 3:26 play to break a 28-all tie and Christian Bryant recorded his first career interception on Cal’s final drive.
Cal is coached by Sonny Dykes. He is in his first season with the Golden Bears after coaching the nation’s top-ranked scoring offense one year ago at Louisiana Tech (51.5 ppg). Dykes was 22-15 in three years at Louisiana Tech and his team won 16 of its last 20 games. Louisiana Tech scored 57 points in a two-point loss to Texas A&M last year.
