Ohio State's mens basketball team scored a big recruit on Thursday when Payton Dastrup committed to the Buckeyes.
The 6-foot-9, 220-pound power forward is rated as the 19th power forward in the nation and 95th overall player in the 247 composite rankings. He also had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Brigham Young and Virginia. He took a visit to OSU on Oct. 18.
According to Rivals.com, Dastrup won't play for Ohio State until 2016 because he intends on going on a two-year Mormon mission after high school. He will still have full eligibility for Ohio State.
