Update: Defensive lineman Darius Slade was a late addition to Ohio State's recruiting class. He gives them 23 recruits this year.

In the end, there were no surprises with Ohio State's 2014 football recruiting class.

Twenty-three players have signed a National Letter of Intent with the Buckeyes. Seven of them are already enrolled.

Ohio State's recruiting class is rated by 247Sports as the second-best in the nation, behind only Alabama. The Buckeyes are the only Big Ten team in the top 10.

Defensive line recruit Malik McDowell was considering Ohio State until he finally signed his National Letter of Intent with Michigan State. That leaves an open scholarship for Ohio State. That could go to defensive end Darius Slade who will choose his school after he visits OSU the weekend of Feb. 15.
