If you ever wanted to own an Ohio State championship ring, now is your chance.
An eBay user is selling six Ohio State rings, all of them allegedly related to the tattoo scandal that stopped the team from playing in the national championship game last season.
Among the rings for sale are 2008 Big Ten Championship rings for Terrelle Pryor, Mike Adams, DeVier Posey and Solomon Thomas.
Whether these are real or not, or just good fakes, is unknown. The seller only shows a single image of most of the rings for sale. They also have a less-than-stellar feedback rating and no feedback since 2011.
In other words, buy with caution. In fact, maybe just look at these and chuckle. The descriptions are a little strange. For example, here is the description for the 2002 national championship ring that allegedly belonged to offensive lineman T.J. Downing:
"This ring was involved in the 2010 Ohio state football scandal . I have the news paper where the player (tj downing) tryed to lie and say that it was stolen from him and I showed papers saying I bought it before he said it was stolen so I revived it back. This ring is a part of Ohio states history and will be worth a lot of money to the rite collector some day. Just so every one knows none of the memoribila was traded for tattoos, the media went off of false info and ran with it
Every thing I'm selling was paid for with cash. If you want to prove that it was involved in the scandal look it up and the winning bidder can take a picture with ed and the ring.
Happy bidding and Go Buck's! !!!"
Many of the rings are in the $1,000 range. If you happen to buy one, email me: dkadar[at]thebeaconjournal.com
