With 123 players, it's not a surprise to see two Ohio State players on the Rotary Lombardi Award watch list. Those two players also aren't a surprise.
Senior Michael Bennett and sophomore Joey Bosa were both named to the award's preseason watch list. It's just the latest award to tab Bennett and Bosa.
Both players are on the watch lists for the Nagurski Trophy and Bednarik Award. Bennett is also on the Outalnd Trophy watch list.
The Lombardi Award is given every year to the best down lineman in college football. That means that both offensive and defensive players can win it.
It is one of the older individual awards in college football. The first one was awarded to Ohio State's Jim Stillwagon in 1970. He is one of six Ohio State players to win the award. The most recent was A.J. Hawk in 2005. Offensive tackle Orland Pace won the award in 1995 and 1996.
