Seeking reinstatement, Ohio State LB Storm Klein pleads to lesser charge
According to the Columbus Dispatch, Storm Klein has pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. In pleading to a lesser charge, Klein has asked for reinstatement onto the Ohio State football team.
Klein was sentenced to probation for 18 months and a court costs fine, the Dispatch reports. Following the decision, Klein's attorney sent a note to the OSU football office to be reinstated.
The attorney told the Dispatch that OSU head coach Urban Meyer would review the details before making a decision. The paper notes that Klein is enrolled in classes this semester, which would make him academically eligible. But his attorney also said Klein can't afford to attend Ohio State without a football scholarship.
In July, Klein was charged with assault and domestic violence. Klein is accused of hitting the mother of their child.
The senior started 10 games at middle linebacker for the Buckeyes last season. On the season, he had 45 tackles.
