I’ve been fortunate over the years to have owned and driven more than my fair share of fun cars. Everything from sleek European sports cars to highly styled American classics have graced my garage.
Despite that, I’ve also paid my dues driving some of the most uncool cars in history, mostly out of economic necessity. First there was the hand-me-down Plymouth four door sedan from my dad. Every seventeen year old’s automotive dream, right? Then there was the 1974 Ford Maverick (a four door, no less) that was my pallet for bondo and primer. The rust kept coming back and the anemic six cylinder engine burned oil and gas in equal quantities. I’m almost too embarrassed to admit that I showed up at my future wife’s house for our first date…..in a Chevette!
Now that I have opened myself up for public ridicule, I’d really like to hear any stories of uncool cars you have experienced.
