2013 NFL Combine: Kent State OL Brian Winters says cramps kept him from finishing bench press

Kent State offensive lineman Brian Winters, a Hudson High School graduate, tallied only nine reps in the bench press today at the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium because he felt discomfort in his left pectoral muscle and did not finish the test.
“I had to stop because I cramped on my pec right here [pointing to his left pectoral muscle],” Winters told the Beacon Journal. “So I’m going to re-do it at pro day. I’m fine.”
Kent State’s pro day is scheduled for March 6. Winters plans to participate in other drills Saturday at the combine.
Winters, who played tackle at KSU but guard in the Senior Bowl, said he met with Browns offensive line coach Mike Sullivan today and is scheduled to meet with his hometown team again tonight.
“It’s definitely a great feeling," said Winters, whom NFLDraftScout.com projects as a third-or fourth-round pick. "Growing up, I’ve always been a Browns fan. My dad’s a Browns fan. My step-mom is a big Steelers fan. My real mother is a really big Browns fan also. So we have a little rivalry going in the household. It’s a cool experience.”
