2014 NFL Draft: Browns select Oklahoma State CB Justin Gilbert with No. 8 pick after second trade

By Ryan Lewis Published: May 8, 2014

After moving down from No. 4 with the Buffalo Bills, the Browns moved up one spot with the Minnesota Vikings to No. 8 overall.

With that pick, the Browns selected Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert.

The Browns swapped first-round picks and gave up their fifth-round pick (No. 145 overall) to the Vikings.

Gilbert is a big corner with plus size known for his combination of toughness and quickness. He had 39 passes defended and 12 interceptions during his career at Oklahoma State and was a consensus All-American and Thorpe Award finalist last season. He also set a Big 12 record with six kick return touchdowns. He'll be paired with Pro Bowl  cornerback Joe Haden.
