Beanie to visit Browns
Ohio State running back Chris ''Beanie'' Wells will visit the Browns next week. Cleveland, which holds the fifth overall pick in the April 25-26 draft, is one of eight teams the junior from Garfield High School is scheduled to meet with.
Also on Wells' calendar are the Baltimore Ravens (who select No. 26), Cincinnati Bengals (No. 6), Denver Broncos (Nos. 12, 18), Arizona Cardinals (No. 31), San Diego Chargers (No. 16), New York Jets (No. 17) and Seattle Seahawks (No. 4).
Wells finished his career as Ohio State's fourth-leading rusher with 3,382 yards and averaged 5.8 yards per carry. In 2008, he became only the sixth Buckeye runner to reach 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons. The Browns must start looking for a successor for Jamal Lewis, who turns 30 in August, and could be interested in Wells' rare combination of speed and power.
