By Nate Ulrich Published: April 9, 2014

Mike Pettine will make his preseason debut as an NFL head coach when the Browns visit the Detroit Lions in the exhibition opener for both teams in August.

The NFL unveiled the preseason opponents for all 32 teams this afternoon.

The Browns will announce specific dates and times for all of their preseason games in the near future. The NFL is also expected to release the regular-season schedule this month.

The Browns will open the preseason on the road against the Lions sometime from Aug. 7-10. Then they’ll visit the Washington Redskins Aug. 18 for a Monday Night Football exhibition game that’ll be nationally televised in prime time on ESPN.

The Browns will host the St. Louis Rams in their “dress rehearsal” exhibition game Aug. 21-24. Then they’ll host the Chicago Bears Aug. 28 in the preseason finale.

All Browns preseason games will be televised locally on WKYC (Channel 3) and air on the team’s radio network, including flagship stations 92.3 The Fan, ESPN 850 WKNR and 98.5 WNCX.
