Browns add scout, cornerback

By Marla Ridenour Published: February 12, 2010

Tom Headlee, who spent the past 10 years with the Seattle Seahawks coaching staff, has joined the Browns as a pro scout.

Nine of those 10 years in Seattle, Headlee worked under new Browns president Mike Holmgren, first as a coaching assistant, then as a defensive quality control coach. Headlee is a 2000 graduate of Washington State University.

The Browns also announced the signing of free agent defensive back John Bowie, which was reported Thursday by the National Football Post.

Bowie, a fourth-round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2007, was waived by the Raiders on Nov. 25. He is a product of Northland High School in Columbus and the University of Cincinnati.
