Browns CEO Joe Banner's father, Ralph, dead at age 89
Ralph Banner, the father of new Browns CEO Joe Banner, died Thursday night at age 89, said Neal Gulkis, the team’s vice president of media relations.
Joe Banner originally planned to begin working at the team’s headquarters Thursday. Instead, he went to the Boston area to be with his father, who had fallen ill.
On Friday, Joe Banner remained in the Boston area with family. Gulkis said he doesn't know whether Banner will attend the Browns' home game Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
“Deepest condolences to Joe and the entire family,” Gulkis said.
