Browns claim DB
The Browns were awarded defensive back DeAngelo Smith off waivers from the Detroit Lions. To make room for him on the roster, they waived defensive back Matterral Richardson.
Smith, 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, is a product of the University of Cincinnati and Independence High School in Columbus. A fifth-round draft choice of Dallas in 2009, Smith spent Sept. 6-16 with the Browns last season. He was picked up by Detroit on Nov. 18.
