Here's a release from the Browns:
The Browns were awarded offensive lineman Steve Vallos off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks and signed defensive back Derrick Roberson, the team announced Tuesday. In addition the team waived offensive lineman Billy Yates and linebacker David Veikune, a 2009 second-round pick.
Vallos was originally signed selected by Seattle in the seventh round (232nd overall) of the 2007 draft. After spending the 2007 season on the Seahawks' practice squad, Vallos appeared in all 16 games in each of the past two years. He earned three starts last year with two at center and one at left guard. Vallos set the Wake Forest University (2003-06) record for most career starts with 48. Born December 28, 1983, the 6-3, 310-pound Vallos is a native of Boardman, Ohio, where he attended Boardman High School.
Roberson originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans on May 10, 2007. Roberson spent time on the practice squads of the Texans, the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He made his NFL debut with the Buccaneers last season, appearing in six games, recording three tackles and three passes defensed. He was waived by Tampa Bay this past Saturday. Roberson appeared in 40 games with 19 starts while at Rutgers University (2003-06). Born March 12, 1985, the 5-10, 180-pound Roberson is a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., where he attended Northeast High School.
