Browns coach Pat Shurmur: LB Scott Fujita is out vs. Seahawks
Browns coach Pat Shurmur met with reporters today after his team practiced in preparation for its game Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Here are some highlights from the news conference:
- Browns strongside linebacker Scott Fujita (concussion) won't play Sunday, Shurmur said. Running back Peyton Hillis (hamstring) and safety Ray Ventrone (hamstring) have not practiced all week, but Shurmur said he has not ruled them out. Shurmur said Hillis has continued to work with trainers inside the team's headquarters.
- Cornerback Joe Haden looked good today in his return to practice, Shurmur said. "If Joe (can) go, he'll be available the whole game, and we'll play him as much as we need him," Shurmur said.
- During the open portion of today's practice, Shurmur voiced his displeasure after tight end Alex Smith missed an assignment and running back Montario Hardesty dropped a pass. "I thought it was an excellent practice," Shurmur said. "There's a lot of the practice that you folks (reporters) don't see. I think my demeanor was very similar to a lot of practices."
