Browns coach Pat Shurmur: RB Trent Richardson has right rib cage injury

Highlights of Browns coach Pat Shurmur’s press conference, which took place this afternoon:
On the status of running back Trent Richardson, who left the game midway through the third quarter with what was first called a “flank” injury: “Trent’s fine. He has a right rib cartilage injury and he’s day to day.”
On seven consecutive three-and-outs: “We were calling bad plays and we weren’t executing them right.”
On defensive tackle Phil Taylor’s expected return to practice after suffering a torn pectoral in May: “We’re going to get him in there soon. There’s a 21-day window. I’ll let that play itself out.”
On if he heard from exiting owner Randy Lerner: “He texted me congratulations on winning. I’ve texted back and forth with him frequently.”
