Browns coach Pat Shurmur: There's a chance OL Tony Pashos could be out for several weeks
Browns coach Pat Shurmur held a news conference this afternoon after the team practiced in preparation for its game Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Here are some of the highlights:
- Shurmur said offensive lineman Tony Pashos, the projected starter at right tackle, is expected to miss Week 2 with a left ankle injury. Pashos wore a walking boot while he watched the end of practice this afternoon. When asked if Pashos would be out for several weeks, Shurmur said, "Yeah, we'll have to see. He's still in the boot, and he's probably going to be out this week, and then I think we just take it week to week. But there's a chance of that." When asked if Pashos suffered a setback during practice last week, Shurmur said, "No, I wouldn't consider anything a setback right now. We're just trying to get it settled down. And unfortunately sometimes you can't really predict (how long he'll be out)."
- With Pashos out, Artis Hicks will probably start at right tackle, Shurmur said. Oniel Cousins will rotate with Hicks during the game, Shurmur said.
