Browns coverage update
During the offseason, I'll occasionally be on assignment in realms unrelated to the NFL. For example, I'm in Columbus this week to cover the high school state wrestling tournaments. Meanwhile, Beacon Journal sports columnist Marla Ridenour is pitching in with coverage of the Browns. Check her blog and Ohio.com for the following Browns updates from the past few days:
- If top quarterbacks go early in NFL Draft, the Browns will have more choices.
- The NFL and the players' union extend CBA negotiations for seven more days.
- Browns players are bracing for a potential lockout.
- Browns President Mike Holmgren nearly made himself the team's coach.
- The Browns sign quarterback Seneca Wallace to a three-year contract.
- The Browns bring back linebacker D'Qwell Jackson via a one-year deal.
- Browns cornerback Eric Wright receives a second-round restricted free-agent tender.
