The Browns placed defensive lineman Robaire Smith (back) and offensive lineman Tony Pashos (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday, the team announced. To take their spots on the 53-man roster, the Browns signed wide receiver Yamon Figurs and offensive lineman Paul McQuistan.

Drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round (74th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Figurs has played in 33 games during his four-year professional career, recording five receptions for 103 yards with one touchdown. On special teams, he has registered 85 kickoff returns for 1,956 yards (23.0 avg.) with one touchdown, and 42 punt returns for 340 yards (8.1 avg.) with one touchdown. He played with the Ravens in 2007 and 2008 before splitting time with the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2009. He was signed by the Oakland Raiders on Jan. 13 and released by the Raiders on Sept. 15 after appearing in their season opener.

Drafted by the Raiders in the third round (69th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-6, 315-pound McQuistan has played in 35 games with 12 starts, including six apiece in 2006 and 2007. He has started six times at right tackle, four at left guard and two at right guard. He was with the Raiders until being waived by the team on Nov. 9, 2009. He was then signed by Jacksonville on Nov. 21, where he was inactive for the final seven games. He was waived by the Jaguars on Sept. 5. His twin brother, Pat, is an offensive lineman with the Miami Dolphins.
