Browns linemen Billy Winn, John Hughes comfortable with 3-4 defense

With the Browns switching to new defensive coordinator Ray Horton's 3-4 multi-front scheme, several lineman will be asked to play different roles in 2013.
Billy Winn and John Hughes, sixth and third round picks in last year's draft, respectively, each fit that bill. Both made an appearance at the Cleveland Auto Show at the I-X center Thursday night. And both say they're comfortable with the transition.
"I feel comfortable with anything," Winn said, who may be asked to switch to a 3-4 defensive end. "I'm putting myself out there to play wherever they need me to play. If they need me to play inside, I'll play inside. If they need me to play outside, I'll play outside. I'm excited to get going."
Winn says that while at Boise State, the Broncos ran versions of the 3-4, 4-3 and 4-2-5 defenses.
Hughes, during his sophomore season at Cincinnati, says he played mostly at the end spot in a 3-4 but did find some snaps at the nose tackle position.
"I feel comfortable at all three positions," Hughes said. "Just being able to get on the field is what I'm looking for. You want big guys who can run and little guys who can hit. That's the equation to a great defense so we're excited to see what they have in store for us."
Hughes might be asked to play nose or at one of the end spots. At this time, he says he hasn't been asked to put on andy weight and isn't sure if he will.
