Wide receiver Davone Bess and outside linebacker Jabaal Sheard continued to sit out today while the Browns practiced.
Bess and Sheard were also sidelined Wednesday. Browns coach Rob Chudzinski said Wednesday that Bess was getting practice off to rest and Sheard was day-to-day with an injured knee. Both players worked out on the side with trainers today.
Chudzinski is scheduled to address the media after practice at about 12:10 p.m. today.
With Sheard out again, Quentin Groves is expected to Saturday night when the Browns visit the Indianapolis Colts for the third preseason game. Chudzinski said most of the starters will play the entire first half and one series in the third quarter.
Outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo (bruised lung), kicker Brandon Bogotay (groin), cornerback Chris Owens (foot), tight end Gary Barnidge (sprained AC joined in shoulder), wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt (hamstring) and defensive end Desmond Bryant (back spasms) were also sidelined but working out on the side. Mingo rode a stationary bike.
