Browns put in waiver claim on QB
The Boston Globe reported that the Browns were one of four teams who put in a waiver claim Wednesday on New England quarterback Kevin O'Connell, a third-round pick in 2008.
Detroit got him by virtue of its 0-16 record last season.
According to the Herald, the Denver Broncos and New York Jets also tried to obtain O'Connell.
Former Browns defensive lineman Louis Leonard told the Rock Hill (S.C.) Herald that he was getting a pedicure in a Cleveland nail salon when his agent called him to tell him he'd been traded to the Carolina Panthers. Leonard was dealt Tuesday for an undisclosed draft choice.
