Browns RB Peyton Hillis: 'It’s going to be an interesting season'
Browns running back Peyton Hillis spoke to media Thursday in Los Angeles while filming a TV commercial for RipFire XCELERATE, a pre-workout supplement, with Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice. Here are some of the highlights from what Hillis said during a question-and-answer session:
Q: Can you comment on the labor negotiations between players and owners?
A: "Right now, I’m itching to get back to work. Everybody I talk to seems optimistic and positive and looking to make a quick rebound and get back to work."
Q: What are your thoughts on the 2011 NFL season?
A: "It’s going to be an interesting season. We have a new head coach (Pat Shurmur), a new playbook, a lot of rookies with things to prove. I’m anxious to get back to the game, make new relationships, get on the same page and get our timing right. It’s going to be a fun process."
Q: What are your thoughts about the concussion issues players face?
A: "I don’t have much of an issue with the situation. It’s football. You’re going to get hit in the head. If you have a concussion, get over it. You need to try to be safe, and I’m against unnecessary hits. But concussions are going to happen. These are big, fast guys."
