Browns running back Peyton Hillis has been ruled out for today's game against the Miami Dolphins, a source confirmed about two hours before kickoff.

The Browns do not announce the official list of inactives until about 90 minutes before the start of the game.

Hillis has been dealing with strep throat and a fever. As of Saturday night, the Browns still expected Hillis to play, but he did not look well this morning as he exited the team's locker room.

With Hillis out, backup running back Montario Hardesty is expected to start. Hardesty should receive the most extensive playing time of his NFL career today.
