Browns receive mediocre ratings in Madden 11
The Browns' "player ratings" for the Madden 11 video game have been released. Sure, it's just a video game, but a lot of players and fans actually pay attention to this stuff.
Browns offensive tackle Joe Thomas has the team's highest overall player rating with a 95. Defensive lineman Shaun Rogers is second with a 93, and offensive guard Eric Steinbach is third with a 91.
Most of the Browns, however, received mediocre ratings. No quarterback, tight end or wide receiver has a rating higher than 78.
As a team, the Browns received an overall rating of 70. They're ranked 28th out of the 32 teams in the NFL.
In other Browns-Madden news, legendary running back Jim Brown continues to take legal action against the video game's publisher, Electronic Arts.
Madden 11 is scheduled to be available in stores beginning Aug. 10.
