Browns rookie cornerback Joe Haden, the seventh overall pick in this year's draft, doesn't want to miss any action when the team's first full-squad practice of training camp is held Saturday in Berea.
On Wednesday, Haden posted the following message on Twitter: "Headed 2 clevelad in the morning. Trying 2 sign before sat! I wana get goin!"
Assuming Haden meant Cleveland, perhaps he and his agent Malik Shareef will strike a deal with the Browns anytime now. Also on Wednesday during a press conference at the team's headquarters, Browns President Mike Holmgren said it's possible Haden could be signed and avoid a delayed arrival at practice Saturday.
It's also important to note that the Oakland Raiders signed rookie linebacker Rolando McClain late Wednesday night. McClain was drafted one slot behind Haden, with the eighth overall pick. ESPN reported McClain's five-year deal is worth $40 million with $23 million guaranteed.
Shareef hasn't returned calls or e-mails from the Beacon Journal all week.
